2011 update

Like last year, I have been quilting like crazy. In addition to my personal projects, I have been teaching machine patchwork and quilting at Rich Mountain Community College, and I also took two training classes in sewing machine repair from the well known OSMG Ray White. So now, I repair vintage sewing machines as well as teach quilting on these very same machines. If I ever slow down enough to take some photos, I will post pics of the machines and quilting.

Catching up

In the last year, I have been quilting with a passion. I set a goal for 2010 to complete 12 new quilts and to finish some of my UFO’s.

I did finish one UFO, a large log cabin scrappy quilt. I also resurrected a quilt that I started back in the 80′s, and had become bored with it. It was loaded with mistakes, which I elected to leave in. I joined the rows, sandwiched the layers, and in a moment of complete insanity, decided to hand quilt it. It’s about half done. Perhaps it will be completed next year.

I made 8 or 9 tops (one is still needing its borders), and completed one quilt. It was as large pink and purple sampler that I machine quilted on my Featherweight and gifted to my DH’s cousin and his new bride.

Next year’s goal is to finish these quilts and make 3 more.

Are you on automatic ship from both Gevalia and Starbucks, and you still run out before the end of the month? It’s because you drink coffee well into the night as you are making ATC’s, right? Tasteful nudity allowed; please remember that these will most likely be shown at the receiver’s local coffee bar. Please include a mailing label and 1.50 postage. New Art Paper Doll JAM

I have started a new art Jam on the Yahoogroup Jamartists. If this sounds like something you want to do, please join the group and send me an email. Here is how it works:
Player number one creates half a doll (top half or bottom half) in triplicate.
Player #2 adds the other halves of the dolls.
Player #3 creates the costumes, keeps one doll & sends the other two to Player number one. That player sends a doll to player number 2.
Wanna play? List of players will accompany dolls.
I sent out the first doll halves this morning. Some were tops, some were bottoms, and all were different sets. This promises to be a great JAM, as one really has to put some thought into the project. Please join the group and play with us.

browser problem

Lately, when I log in to my blog, I cannot see my slideshow. I use Firefox, and since I updated to the most recent version, I cannot view my slideshows. However, I have discovered they are viewable in Internet Explorer. So, if you are having trouble, I apologize. Try IE.

Even though the calendar says Spring is not until the 20th, my ewe said it was time to have her lamb, Sarah. See Sarah’s birthday pics on the new slideshow. Someone asked if she will turn white like her mom. No, this is her color.
